Just my luck! -Private RP

Subject: Just my luck! -Private RP Wed Jul 17, 2013 1:01 am

(Private RP for Selena and Jack)

Jack was digging through the crates and luggage in the cargo hold like a madman, a clear look of panic across his face. He'd woken up that morning to realize that his chain was gone. It was a simple chain of little to no value, (Heck, it had two pop can tabs hanging from it!) but, it was pretty damn important to him. Jack never took it off. He'd worn it to every single game he'd played since the age of six. It was his most important good luck charm and he knew that he was freaking screwed if he didn't find it! He had literally no chance of winning without it.

Selena was getting a little tired of being in a big group of annoying teenagers so she decided to go find a place where she could just sit by herself for a while. She headed into the cargo hold thinking it would be empty but instead found a distressed Jack.

Rather than turning around to go back to cluster of teens in the rest of the plane, she decided to see what was up. Jack seemed to be the only guy on her team with a little brains so it wouldn't hurt to at least talk to him, right? Selena slowly approached him and leaned over his shoulder while he was digging through one of the crates. "What's going on, Greaser? You look like you just stepped out of a horror movie. If your face was any paler I'd mistake you for a ghost."

Jack jumped a bit at the sound of Selena's voice. He turned around, trying to gain his composure, running a hand through his hair "Yeah, yeah... Yer really one to talk 'bout lookin' like a ghost, aren't ya?" He looked around once more, trying to calm down. If people saw him this freaked, it showed an obvious weakness, and that could get him off the show! "I just lost somthin'... It's no big deal."

Selena rolled her eyes at his remark about her complexion. She wasn't that pale. As Jack brushed off his problem as not a big deal she put her hands on her hips. "No big deal? Right. That's why you're running around here digging through this stuff faster than the stowaway animals." Selena moved to the nearest crate and sat on top of it. "So what'd you lose? An oh-so-precious, limited edition base-ball card?" She imitated Jack's accent (which was absolutely horrible and ended up sounding like a Texan accent rather than Boston) and acted like she was swooning over a celebrity as she spoke.

Jack's face fell flat for a moment before he raised a brow. "Dafuq was that supposed to be? Southern belle on extasy?" he folded his arms "An' why would I bring baseball cards here? They're worth money. those things don't leave my bedroom" Again, he paused "... What are you doin' creepin round here anyway?"

Selena crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes. "You. I was imitating y... You know what never mind." She shook her head and then leaned back, crossing her legs as Jack spoke. "I wasn't creeping around anywhere, I was looking for a quiet place to sit and be on my own for a while. Everyone on this plane seems find entertainment in being loud and obnoxious. I just wanted to get away for a bit, but I guess I can't even manage to do that, can I?"

Jack shrugged "Well I was here first, so I ain't leavin'... I don't have time to chat anyway. You were the one who struck up the conversation." he edged towards another crate and peeked inside. He knew it was silly to check in random crates, but honestly, he was that desperate at the time.

Selena studied Jack up and down as he went on looking through another crate. "Well this is the quietest place on this whole plane so I'm not leaving either. Besides my thera.." She stopped herself. If she told anyone about her... problems... they would certainly use it against her. Although she didn't care much about winning she figured the longer she could stay in the game, the longer she'd be away from her father. "My mother... said I should try to make at least one friend on this show. You seem to have more than one brain cell, unlike the other guys here, so I might as well at least try to get along with you." She shrugged. "But if you don't want the weird goth girl talking to you I can totally understand that too. I won't speak to you but I'm still not leaving."

Again he stopped his search and looked at Selena suspiciously. He didn't know what to make of her yet, or whether or not she could be trusted, but Jack figured it would be nice to have at least one person on his side... It wasn't like he was going to tell her anything she could use against him any how. "More than one braincell? Geez, you really know how to flatter a guy, don't you? Next thing you'll be telling me my face looks okay and I have subpar hair." despite his distress from his missing chain, Jack managed a smirk.

Selena raised an eyebrow. "Well your face isn't bad but a hair cut wouldn't hurt." She imitated his smirk and then hopped off the crate. "So what are you looking for anyways? If it's not your lame baseball cards then I'm all out of guesses."

He reached up and ran his hand through his hair, furrowing his brows. "It ain't even that long." then, he thought for a moment, deciding to downplay the sentimental value of the chain. "Oh just some.. Stupid chain some relative gave me. Mom'll throw a fit if I come home without it." In truth the chain was simply one he'd found lying about the house as a child. He'd added the pop can tags to pretend they were 'dog tags'. He'd then worn them to one of his first baseball games... The rest was history. It was really lame, but he was so lost without it.

Selena rolled her eyes. "Right. Just some stupid chain." She went to the nearest open crate and started digging through it. "Well, while I'm here I might as well make myself useful. It's not like I have anything better to do." Well she could go check out the kitchen and see what kind of food they had on this crappy plane, but it was almost definitely being blocked off. She didn't really have anywhere else to go and sitting around was pretty boring.

"Fine, make yerself useful then." Jack went to look in another crate, but there was stuff on top of it. As he began to move it, he caught a glint out of the corner of his eye and then heard something clatter to the ground. He looked down to investigate. His eyes widened with horror. He broke a mirror! HE BROKE A FREAKING MIRROR. Seven years of bad luck was going to destroy his life! "Gaaaah!" he jumped back about a foot and put his hands through his hair. What was he going to do??? WTF was he going to do?!

Selena quickly turned around when she heard the crash. "Woah, calm down. It's just a mirror, no big. That thing is probably like ancient anyways." Jack was freaking out, yet again. Jeeze, what was wrong with this guy? He worried more than her grandmother, and she worried quite a bit!

Selena raised her eyebrows. "Seriously? None of that junk is real, it's just a thing that parents tell their kids so that they'll be careful around their ancient, antique mirrors and stuff. So just relax, nothing's going to happen."

She rolled her eyes. "Wow, chill out. If I want anyone kicked out first it's that wannabe G.I. Joe. The only thing he brings to this team is extra weight."

After searching for a few more moments, Jack let out a frustrated groan and kicked one of the crates. He hissed in pain, having not anticipated it to hurt so much. "ARRGH. I just don't know how I could have lost the damn thing! I mean I never take it off!"

Selena stopped yet again to turn around and look at Jack. "Well if you never take it off then it's OBVIOUS where it's gone, isn't it?" She crossed her arms and smirked. "Somebody stole it."

He paused, turning to look at Selena. His scowl deepened and he narrowed his eyes. "The hell'd someone wanna steal that piece'o'shit any way? It's not all that valuable. It's not like anybody knows it's lucky." He rubbed his sore foot a couple times before leaning back against the crate. "but if it was stolen, I'm gonna kick someone's ass"

Selena thought to herself for a moment. "Well, you said you never take it off right? So maybe someone thought that if they took it from you it'd throw you off your game." She stopped for a second and raised an eyebrow, "And if that's the case, they were definitely right."

"That'd make sense if somebody knew it was important. As far as everybody here knows, it's a couple cheap pop tabs on a cheap chain" He ran a hand through his hair again with a huff. "And it ain't gonna work... 'Cause if someone took it, they're dead. I'll make sure of that." All he could really do was make empty threats. It was as if he was somehow hoping the thief would be listening in.
